Rayo is our 100% women only coffee and it isn't grown by a faceless co-op. It's grown by Luz Helena Salazar, who's been farming coffee in the hills of Armenia, Quindío for over twenty years. She taught herself the craft plant by plant, and today her washed Caturra scores 85.5 and tastes like orange, caramel, chocolate and a bright snap of lime.
We promised we wouldn't bore you with grind charts and tasting wheels. But Luz Helena is the one bit of "specialty" we'll happily shout about: real coffee, from a real person, grown with proper care.
